Gail & Tommy
Gail is a Registered Nurse who graduated in 1987 with her BSN from the University of British Columbia (UBC) School of Nursing. With extensive experience in a variety of hospital and community based settings for psychiatric/mental health programs, she works well with clients in all levels of crisis and is skilled at coordinating services with other professionals in the health care system. She volunteers for the Calgary Homeless Foundation and has been actively involved with Southern Alberta flood relief efforts since June 2013. Gail is honoured to announce that she was nominated for the 2012 CARNA Award of Nursing Excellence in Clinical Practice. One of her favourite daily relaxation strategies is to spend time with her beloved dog, Tommy.
She opened Kermode Counselling Services in Calgary, AB in 2008, providing individual and group psychotherapy for adults, as well as presentations for the general public. Gail is an authorized instructor for Mental Health First Aid Canada & for programs from the Changeways Clinic. In January 2013, she completed the required training to facilitate the HEROES program (Impact Society) which is a strength based, character building program for youth. With a certificate in Legal Nurse Consulting, Gail also offers her mental health expertise to lawyers, human resource departments, advocacy groups and insurance companies.
